January 2012 – When the year started, I decided that I wanted to improve my cardio fitness and was trying to think of a way to make that happen. I was reading my Twitter feed one day and saw a tweet from my friend, Rachel. She was trying to stay motivated doing a Couch to 5K running program. I asked a few questions and then decided this would be the method to my madness. The end goal, for me, is to run the 5K in the GoodLife Toronto Marathon on May 6, 2012. I am going to blog along the way to document my progress and thoughts as I work toward that goal.
For those of you that don’t know, the Couch to 5K program is designed to slowly build up your running progress from no running at all to a 5K run. The program takes 9 weeks to complete and can be done at your own pace. The app that I am using is built by Zen Labs. The website about their app and the program, can be found here.
